Needs Assessment Report
Managing Antibiotic Resistance - Change Readiness Inventory Results
Clinical Decision Support System - Physician Survey
A Needs Assessment Summary for front-line physicians (emergency medicine and hospitalists) was completed in February 2007. The project assessed the educational needs of front-line physicians in the acute care setting with a focus on diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic management, using stakeholder interviews, Change Readiness Inventory (CRI), and a Learning Preferences Assessment. Results from the study will be used to develop effective educational interventions with appropriate content and format.
A letter to the Clinical Infectious Diseases journal titled “Web Resources for Antimicrobial Resistance,” authored by Dr. George Mejicano and Marc Wright, was published in the March 15, 2007 issue. The letter highlights the AREA Web portal as a source of information for resistance and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
